Wonderful food and ambiance! I had an omelette with provolone, bacon, onions, and spinach with toast and country potatoes, it was absolutely delicious. Very affordable price and great service, I will definitely coming back here.
MoreGreat food,Historic place. Should be on every Foodie Bucket List.
Great hometown diner! Great food! Very kind and helpful staff. Their sweets are to die for. Really cozy atmosphere. A must stop.
MoreLove the food and atmosphere
First timer. It met all expectations. Casino Omelette. Side of jalapeño bacon. One of the best omelettes I’ve ever had. Gotta new breakfast place...we’ll be back!
MoreGreat for brunch on Sunday. Excellent food and a wide selection ... if feeling adventurous, ask for the chef's (or Brian's) breakfast.
MoreFabulous food, fabulous service, great menu. Memorable experience with my husband.
MoreAwesome staff, crazy inventive food, i am a sous chef and this place is the real deal. Best breakfast i have had in a very long time. It is my new place to bring food people i want to impress
MoreUpdate!!!!!Went back today. What an amazing time. The owner personally made us soda bread for us to send to our family in florida. He pulled out all the stops and really made us feel like part of the family. It's so good we drove 3.5 hours just to have breakfast! Even better the second time aroundAwesome old diner feel with an Irish twist. The sweet flat bread and soda bread are wonderful. You also can get the bread to go, which I got 4 of. Rasberry jelly was the best I have ever had. Definitely a recommended stop if you're passing through.
MoreFood is delicious. Quaint dinner. Gets really busy and parking is tough, but great spot if walking around downtown.
MoreExcellent food and great space for breakfast. The wait staff are extremely friendly and accommodating too.
MoreWonderful old style diner experience with friendly service. Food was great, I had the banana French toast that was featured on A&E's "Diners, Dive-ins and Dives". The dish met my expectations. Also they serve pumpkin spice coffee with free refills. Their dark roast coffee is better that Starbucks. I would strongly recommend that you try this gem in Middletown, it's worth the trip!
MoreThe staff is attentive, the chef came out to talk, then he brought us several samples of his creations just to try. Very relaxing. Really interesting food combinations.
More5th generation Irish diner, good food, great location and staffed by people who care about your experiance.
MoreNice little place. It was empty when we arrived but it filled up fast. Service was quick and attentive. We felt like family. We were happy we stopped in and will gladly go again when we are in town.
MoreThe food was amazing and the waitress was super nice. Definitely coming back when I'm in town again.
MoreThe best diner in all of the world! Where else can you find a 40 page menu just for breakfast?! Brian is a soup chef extraordinaire & his specials are not to be missed. If you live local to Middletown and you've NOT eaten at O'Rourke's, then you are surely missing out!! 5🌟 EVERY time; I highly recommend!
MoreWe have traveled here 4X even though its a 6 hour drive roundtrip. We love the unique variety of food, especially the Brain's choice. Great service, atmosphere, and food. Cant wait to come back!
MoreYou are in for a special experience when coming here. We always order at least 1 "Brian's Special" why, well because the owner Brian makes it & you never know what kind of heaven he is going to make for you - just for you, no 2 plates are the same! You come here & your treated like family. I walked in today & Brian himself came over with a hug & a plate of treats & said welcome home! Enjoy your time here & make sure you plan on coming back again!
MoreExcellent food and service
Fantastic place! Had a great conversation with Brian while enjoying a delicious breakfast. It's easy to see his love and passion for cooking and the wholesome ingredients. Will definitely be going again!
MoreTraditional Irish food at it's best. My favorite breakfast spot in Connecticut. The He-Man is delicious and so much food you have to get a box. Eggs your choice of meat, potatoes and pancakes. Line out the door to indulge in perfection.
MoreA world class, my favorite, a dinner of the highest order. Just one of many observations here, I saw the owner depart with scissors through a side door to a vacant lot that, on closer observation turned out to be an hurb garden. He returned with five leaves of an unrecognized by this observer fresh bit of seasoning. Breakfast food here is delectable. For those of you into generic diner fare, this dinner covers all the basses, the ketchup squeeze bottles are the largest I have ever seen. Also, it's near a railroad track.
MoreAmazing food and a great atmosphere. Wonderful traditional diner, perfect for a holiday fron across the pond!
MoreTotally worth the line! Best breakfast diner! It doesn’t say Gluten Free options, but they have GF toast and will ensure no wheat products in plate. Home fries were some of the best. The chefs plate was a hodge pudge if different items both big and good, but my companion wanted my dreamy omelette. The hot apple cider is a treat in a mug!
MoreThe food is creative and delicious, and the staff are super friendly and helpful. One of our party is on a low sodium diet, and she was pleased with how all of the dishes seemed to be very lightly salted, if at all. Too often, diner food is salted to the extreme. Not O'Rourke's! The food is flavorful without needing salt.
MoreIts the kind of place you have to go to at least once. Unique menu, laid back atmosphere. Classic metal diner, small but worth the wait. Bkfst and lunch until 2:00 or as the sign says 2:00-ish. I had the corned beef Reuben.... great
MoreAmazing food, cozy atmosphere, friendly staff!
The Diner is fairly small in size and parking can be a challenge considering the location. However, you get a complimentary small plate of baked goodies. The menu is very extensive and the quality is awesome 👍. Our breakfast was not rushed and the meals are plentiful and tasty. It was my first time there but will be back.
MoreVery nice, cozy and clean place!Delicious food and great service! We love their flavored coffee and home made whipped cream😋We just wish they had bigger portions...Also, we just found out that they have summer hours...And there is a free public parking lot just across the street :))
MoreCozy place with very friendly staff! The walnut bread was delicious!
Quaint little diner. No wait for a two top on a Friday morning at 8:45 am, but was busy. Friendly service. Menu offers a lot of options. Had scrambled eggs with kielbasa, which was a little bit off menu but they were happy to accommodate. Would absolutely pop in for breakfast again.
MoreIt’s an average diner that people say is better than it is. Not worth the trip if you’re from out of the area. Terrible parking and higher than average prices.
MoreOne of the best breakfast places in CT! All the dishes are unique and delicious! The chefs and staff are always very friendly-- it's the place I bring all my out-of-town friends.
MoreAmazing, local, fun place to eat....wish I lived here so I could make this my weekly breakfast spot. Thank you for the best breakfast I have had in a long time! Update: The chef heard I was from WA and has come out several times with his favorite creations including fresh Pork Cracklings!
MoreInsanely good food. I ordered an omelet with hash that came with irish bacon, and some kind of lemon cake slices. They also gave us bites of baked goods. Everything was delicious, the staff was very nice and the place looks very nice. Awesome experience overall.
MoreFantastic food! Tiny cozy little place food far exceeded our expectations. Delicious authentic Irish breakfast!
MoreGood food and unique experience but expect to wait a bit since it is such a small diner. The service was a bit slow but it was busy at the time. Recommended
MoreDelicious food!! Excellent flavor and seasonings! Great portions. Fast and friendly service. We’ll definitely be back!
MoreI always enjoy my chefs special breakfast!
I had really high hopes for this place, but sadly was let down... some items are overpriced, $4.25 for iced coffee. $4.95 for a side of corned beef hash that luckily got taken off the bill because it was visually unappealing and was an extremely small portion. The homefries were not crispy due to the extremely large size of them, never seen homefries that large before. I was served the smallest 2 pieces of toast in my life, less than 2 bites. The pancakes were the only thing we liked. I left full, but not satisfied.
MoreGreat food azzz nd great service!
Quaint, nostalgic diner atmosphere. Bomb food. Got the mini raspberry pancakes with scrambled eggs & jalapeno bacon.... Unffff🤤will be back again. Add O'Rourke's to your breakfast bucket list ASAP.
MoreAlthough I've driven by for most of my life, yesterday was my first visit. I was expecting a dive diner atmosphere, and was pleasantly surprised to find a trendy diner atmosphere. The server was attentive and the owner came over to talk to us repeatedly. Definitely recommend.
MoreOne of the most loved breakfast joints I've ever been to
Nice place good food. Very small though.
It doesn't look like much on the outside, but the food is fantastic. Order one of the specials, they are amazing. Anytime I want to impress someone with a good breakfast, I take them here.
MoreO"ROURKE'S DINNER: Has been around since 1941 and to my knowledge it has always had a good reputation for it's food and coffee. When I was there a few years back for me, being on a fixed income, it was rather pricey but I do have to say that the food was well prepared and served. If one wants fine dining a very good place to eat.
MoreGood food, really cozy. Has a ton of egg-based stuff on the menu, though.
Simply superb! They have a large menu and everything I've had there was fantastic. It really isn't your regular diner food, they put a lot of thought in their dishes! I would recommend the Leprechaun bites because it treats with the most delicious baked goods. The portions are super large too, you won't be hungry soon after.
